UFCW Local 791 awards 16 scholarships annually to Local 791 Union members or the son, daughter or spouse of a Union member in good standing with full initiation paid at the time of application.  All scholarships are funded by the UFCW Local 791 Scholarship Fund.

Four of the scholarships are awarded for academic achievement and are $1,000.00 each.  The $1,000.00 Philip T. Chancholo Memorial Scholarship is awarded for the best essay on “What Organized Labor Means to Me.” The remaining scholarships are $500.00 each and are selected by lottery.

Applications for scholarships are made available through your union steward usually in March.  The Executive Board selects winners of the scholarships in May.

Please watch the union bulletin board at your work location and/or this website for the scholarship posting.
